Hummelstown resident Leah Layman recently joined Hershey Real Estate Group, located at 226 W. Chocolate Ave., Hershey.

Layman has a love of houses, history and art. She enjoys painting birdhouses as a hobby and presents them as a welcome gift to new buyers. Her hobby complements her real estate business as she hand paints birdhouses to replicate buyers' new homes. This practice has led her to be a vendor at the Market-on-Chocolate, the Garden Faire, Fort Hunter Day and various other outdoor markets in the spring and summer.

She also decorates the tree on West Main Street, most recently with heart-shaped Valentine's Day decorations and miniature birdhouses. The project lasts all year, and the tree will change for St. Patrick's Day and Easter.
