Libraries Set Summer Reading Program

The Library System of Lancaster County, the local public libraries, and the Bookmobile will kick off the countywide 2025 Summer Reading Program, "Color Our World," on Saturday, June 7. This year's program will take place in person and online from June 7 to Saturday, Aug. 16.

Starting on June 7, readers from birth through young adult age can register for the program in person at their local library or online at https://lancasterlibraries.beanstack.org/.

The Summer Reading Program is designed to encourage children to keep reading during the summer to prevent "the summer slide." It brings children, teens, and families into local public libraries for reading, activities, and programs that focus on literacy, STEM, art, and creativity. The Summer Reading Program supports Pennsylvania Academic Standards and Early Learning Standards.

For more information on this year's Summer Reading Program, readers may contact their local public library or visit https://lancasterlibraries.org/srp/.
