Library Announces February Activities

Manheim Community Library has announced its schedule of activities for February. For events taking place in the basement community room, masks are required for participants over age 2.

The library is currently open for in-person browsing, and no appointments are necessary. Visitors are asked to wear a mask that properly covers their nose and mouth. Patrons may also choose to use the lobby pickup service for holds placed through the online catalog at http://www.manheimlibrary.org.

The library is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays; 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursdays; and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturdays.

The library will be closed on Presidents Day, Monday, Feb. 21.

Family Story Time will be held indoors in the community room on Tuesdays, Feb. 15 and 22, at 10 a.m. Community members must register separately for each week at http://www.manheimlibrary.org/events.

Virtual Preschool Story Time, for children ages 4 and 5, will take place on Thursdays, Feb. 10, 17 and 24, at 10 a.m. To register, visit the aforementioned website.

Toddler Story Time with Stay and Play will be offered for children ages 2 and 3 on Fridays, Feb. 11, 18 and 25, at 10 a.m. in the community room. Registration is required at the aforementioned website.

A Family Valentine's Day Party will take place on Saturday, Feb. 12, at 10:30 a.m. Attendees may make gifts for family and friends and join in "Minute to Win It" style games to compete for prizes. For children and youths in preschool through middle school, craft supplies will be available, including card-making supplies, friendship bracelet and beading materials and collage materials.

Kids of all ages are invited to participate in an indoor, socially distanced LEGO Build-a-thon on Feb. 17 at 3:30 p.m. in the community room. They may bring their own Lego bricks or use the library's.

Patrons may stop by the community room at any time between 10 and 11 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 26, to read with a guest therapy pet. Participants may bring a book or borrow one of the library's.

Homeschool Hands-On STEM will be held on Monday, Feb. 28, at 1 p.m. in the community room. To register, visit the aforementioned website; include the number of children attending and their ages.

The Daughters of Zion class at Zion Lutheran Church has donated handmade hats, along with headbands for babies, for people in need. Community members may stop by the library to choose items from the box of hats in the hallway and the baskets of mittens and headbands for children on the self-checkout desk.
