Library Expands Programs

The Quarryville Library Center, 357 Buck Road, Quarryville, has partnered with local and county institutions to expand its social impact programs to help Southern End residents achieve their life goals and enhance their quality of living. The programs provide resources for health care, jobs, housing, and literacy.

Health care programs include yoga sessions, led by local practitioner Kelly Osborne, who teaches yoga stretches and relaxation techniques. People of all levels are welcome, and attendees should bring a yoga mat or bath towel, a hand towel, and a water bottle. Registration is appreciated.

The library is also offering 20-minute chair massages to adults through a local mobile chair masseuse. There is a suggested donation, which will be shared with the library. People may register through the library's event calendar.

Another available program is PA MEDI, run by the Lancaster County Office of Aging. This group assists those with questions about Medicare, Medicaid, and other health insurance year-round. Call 717-299-7979 to set up an appointment at the library or elsewhere.

To provide resources for housing and jobs, the library is partnering with PA CareerLink Lancaster County to offer workshops, job navigator services, career counseling and exploration, job search assistance, and skills and interest assessments.

The library also offers various literacy-related events, in addition to book rentals, DVD rentals, and game and puzzle rentals. Youth programs include story times, coding, crafts, and seasonally related events. Adult programs include knitting, book clubs, and history lectures.
