Library Friends Present Check

The Friends of the Elizabethtown Public Library presented a check of more than $40,000 to the library's board members on Jan. 13.

The Friends, bookstore volunteers, and library staff and board members gathered to see the check presented at the Friends' bookstore located on the first floor of the library. The Friends group is an auxiliary nonprofit group that raises money for the library through its book sales and bookstore.

The Friends' bookstore is open to the community during library hours. It carries a large section of children's books; CDs and DVDs; and various categories for adults, including fiction, nonfiction, history, cookbooks, and more. Volunteer opportunities are always available. All proceeds from the bookstore help fund the library.
