The Friends of Hershey Public Library will sponsor fall programs at the library, 701 Cocoa Ave., Hershey. For details and registration, visit http://www.hersheylibrary.org.

Boston duo Andy and Judy will present New England folk music on Saturday, Nov. 5, from 2 to 3 p.m. Registration is not required.

Mixed Media Make and Take will be presented by Allison Juliana from the Art Association of Harrisburg on Saturday, Nov. 19. The program will be held at 2 p.m. for children in kindergarten to grade three and at 3 p.m. for children in grade three and higher. Participants will create an original artwork using oil pastels and watercolors.

The Friends' final program of the year will be offered on Saturday, Dec. 3, at 2 p.m. "Joy to the World! The Stories Behind Our Favorite Christmas Carols" will be presented by John Maietta. Maietta will explore the history behind folk tunes, celebrations, and medieval hymns, along with the stories behind 20 favorite Yuletide carols.

Additionally, the library will host science fiction author Nnedi Okorafor in the Keystone Ballroom at Hershey Country Club, 1000 E. Derry Road, Hershey, on Tuesday, Nov. 8, at 7 p.m. Okorafor will appear in conversation with Dr. Ellen Stockstill from Penn State Harrisburg.

Okorafor is a Nigerian American author of African-based science fiction, fantasy, and magical realism. Her works include "Who Fears Death" (currently being developed into an HBO series), the "Binti" novella trilogy, "The Book of Phoenix," the "Akata" books and "Lagoon." She has also written comics for Marvel, including "Black Panther: Long Live the King," "Wakanda Forever," and the "Shuri" series. Her middle grade novel, "Ikenga," will be available to buy with the cost of a ticket.
