Library plans April programs

Milanof-Schock Library, 1184 Anderson Ferry Road, Mount Joy, will offer a variety of programming options. All library programs are free, unless stated otherwise, and do require preregistration. Gently used books and media can be donated to the self-service shed behind the library on Tuesdays through Thursdays from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. and on Saturdays from 9 a.m. to noon. The library will not accept book donations from Tuesday, June 6, though Tuesday, July 4.

Additionally, the library offers passport services by appointment. To schedule an appointment, call the library.

Several programs for children and teens will be available. These programs include Super Science for children age 3 and older on Tuesday, April 4, at 10:30 a.m.; Snorey Time Story Time, for which attendees may wear pajamas and slippers, on April 4 at 6 p.m.; Family Story Time on Wednesdays and Thursdays from April 5 to 27 at 10:30 a.m.; Adventures with Baby on Monday, April 10, at 10:30 a.m. for children ages 6 months to 2 years; Lego Challenge on Tuesday, April 11, at 6 p.m.; Fun Fort Friday for families on Friday, April 14, from 5 to 6 p.m.; and Fun Family Bingo on Tuesday, April 18, at 6 p.m.

Make a Seeded Bookmark will be offered on Saturday, April 8, at 1:30 p.m. Families will make seeded paper bookmarks that they can plant and watch grow.

Four activities have been planned especially for homeschoolers age 7 and up. Identical sessions of Homeschool Art Class will be held on Thursday, April 6, at 1:30 p.m. and April 11 at 10:30 a.m. Homeschool Spanish will be offered at 1:30 p.m. on Thursdays from April 13 through May 18, and participants should plan to attend all sessions. The library will offer Homeschool STEM on April 18 at 10:30 a.m. and Homeschool History Mystery at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, April 25.

Activities for adults will include game night on April 5 at 6 p.m.; Closely Knit, for knitters and crocheters, on Mondays, April 10 and 24, at 1 p.m., with no registration necessary; Joyful Stitchers Cross-Stitch Club, for people of all skill levels, on Saturday, April 15, from 9:15 a.m. to 12:45 p.m.; book bingo on Wednesday, April 19, at 2 p.m.; Easy Writer Club, for writers of all levels, on April 19 at 6:30 p.m., with no registration required; Make-It Monday - "Cricut Design Space," for people age 16 and up on April 24 at 6 p.m.; and Book Discussion Group - Lit Lovers, focusing on "A Single Thread" by Tracy Chevalier on April 25 at 6:30 p.m.

Basic Bicycle Maintenance and Flat Tire Repair will be offered on Monday, April 3, at 6 p.m. The program will be led by Kurt Enck, a teacher and former Marine who works part time at The Cycle Works in Wrightsville.

The Friends of the Milanof-Schock Library will meet on April 10 at 6 p.m. New members are welcome.

The library will show a classic movie on Wednesday, April 12, at 2 p.m. Free popcorn will be provided.

Author Maria V. Snyder will visit the library on Monday, April 17, at 6 p.m. to discuss her writing process, including her inspiration, influences and research. She will share knowledge she gained from researching her first book, "Poison Study."
