Library plans celebration

The Manheim Township Public Library, 595 Granite Run Drive, Lancaster, invites the community to celebrate the end of the Summer Reading Program on Saturday, Aug. 12, with interactive learning and entertainment for people of all ages. The celebration will run from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., and participation in the library's Summer Reading Program is not required for community members to attend.

The event will include food trucks from Stoney's Burgers & Fries, Kona Ice and Krazy Kones, in addition to lawn games, a kids' scavenger hunt and the Bookmobile. The Manheim Township Police Department K-9 Unit will give a demonstration at 9 a.m., and the Manheim Township Fire Department will offer Touch-a-Truck throughout the celebration. Activities will also include a magic show by Erik Hershey at 10 a.m., Mr. Ben's Special Story Time at 11 a.m. and a performance by Phredd the Ukulele One Man Band at 12:30 p.m.
