Library plans July activities

The Summer Reading Program, "All Together Now," will run through Saturday, Aug. 12. People from birth to age 19 may be registered at the aforementioned website, or people may stop by the library to pick up a reading log. Materials for the adult summer reading challenge are also available in the library and on the previously mentioned website. Prizes will be awarded.

The library will offer several ongoing programs. The Knitting Club will meet on Mondays, July 3 and 17, at 10 a.m. and Tuesday, July 25, at 6 p.m. Lititz Game Club for players age 10 and older will meet at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesdays, July 5 and 19. The Astronomy Enthusiasts of Lancaster County will meet on July 5 at 6 p.m. The Painting Club will meet on Wednesdays, July 12 and 26, at 12:30 p.m. The Great Decisions Discussion Group will gather on July 12 at 6:30 p.m. Morning Yoga will take place at 9 a.m. on Fridays, July 14, 21, and 28.

Tai Chi Easy will be available on Tuesday, July 11, at 6:30 p.m.

Sound Healing with Shivaya Healing Arts and Jill Spencer O'Leary will be offered on Thursday, July 13, at 6 p.m. Online registration will begin on Thursday, June 29.

Members of the Blanketeers will gather to make blankets of various kinds for Project Linus on Tuesday, July 18, at 2 p.m. The group will not meet on July 4.

Genealogy Club will meet on July 19 at 6:30 p.m.

Jamie O'Brien and the Launies will present a family-friendly concert in the library's backyard on Thursday, July 27, at 6:30 p.m. The musicians will play songs originating from England and Ireland. Attendees should bring a blanket or chairs. In the event of rain, the event will take place in the library's community room, and only those who registered will be allowed into the concert. Online registration will begin on July 13.

The library will offer programs for children and families, and registration will be available two weeks prior to the event.

During the Paws to Read program on Thursday, July 6, at 10 a.m. and Thursday, July 20, from 6 to 7:30 p.m., children can read stories to trained therapy dogs.

Ran'D Shine will present his Magic Box Show of magic tricks on July 6 at 1:30 p.m. The program is for children age 8 and up.

A Children's Story and Craft program will be offered at the Lititz Farmers Market on July 6 from 4 to 8 p.m. Children will listen to the story "Kindness Grows" by Britta Teckentrup and plant seeds. The program will be repeated every half-hour.

Duct Tape Pouch Craft, for children ages 9 to 12, will be offered on Friday, July 7, at 10 a.m.

Book Buddies, for children ages 3 to 10, will begin at 10 a.m. on Tuesdays, July 11, 18, and 25.

Children will hear a story as a group, then read with their buddy and do a craft together.

Cissy and the Man, a juggler and clown duo, will present Circus in a Box on July 12 at 10 a.m. Children ages 3 to 12 are invited to participate.

Children ages 6 to 10 may attend Lego Builders on July 17 at 10 a.m.

The library will host Wacky Wednesday on July 19 at 1 p.m. The program will include a story and hands-on stations providing opportunities to build school readiness skills and experience STEM.

Janelle Ellis from Truist Bank will share a Financial Literacy Story Time on July 21 at 11 a.m. The activity is geared for young children.

Mark DeRose Music & Art will offer songs, artwork, videos, and activities on Monday, July 24, at 10 a.m. Children in kindergarten through grade six may participate.

Dino Dig with Mike and Roberta Straka will give children an opportunity to experience a paleontological dig on July 26 at 1 p.m. The program is for children in kindergarten through eighth grade.

Lancaster County Department of Parks and Recreation will offer Animal Cahoots on Monday, July 31, at 10 a.m. Children ages 3 to 5 may learn about animal through a story, animal specimens and pictures, and games.

Kids' Yoga, for children ages 6 to 9, will be held on July 28 at 10:30 a.m.

The library's Summer StoryWalk is "The Big Umbrella" by Amy June Bates. The StoryWalk begins to the right of the library entrance and moves counterclockwise around the library.
