Library plans programs

The Lititz Public Library will be closed on Saturday, Dec. 23; Monday, Dec. 25; and Monday, Jan. 1, 2024.

The library will offer several ongoing programs. These activities include Writing Club on Monday, Dec. 18, at 1 p.m.; Newcomers and Neighbors Book Club on Thursday, Dec. 21, at 1 p.m.; and Morning Yoga for teens and adults on Fridays, Dec. 22 and 29, at 9:15 a.m. The Blanketeers will not meet in December.

A Look at Libraries: A Peak Behind the Library Curtain will be held on Thursday, Dec. 28, at 5:30 p.m. This presentation will explain how the Lititz Public Library is governed, how it is funded, and how decisions are made, as well as the library's relationship to the Library System of Lancaster County and the Office of Commonwealth Libraries.

The library's holiday StoryWalk title is "Christmas in Lititz" by local author Bill Dussinger. This book is a Lititz-inspired version of "The 12 Days of Christmas."

During the Paws to Read program on Saturday, Dec. 30, from 10 to 11:30 a.m., children can read stories to trained therapy dogs.

Cruise Into Kindergarten will meet on Dec. 18 at 6:30 p.m. The program is geared to children ages 3 to 6 and is based on the national Every Child Ready to Read program. After hearing a story, children and caregivers will visit stations intended to help with skills that children need to start school.

Three-Week Yoga Story Time, for children ages 3 to 5, will be held on Wednesdays, Jan. 10 to 24, at 6 p.m. Participants are asked to attend all three weeks. Class size is limited. Online registration will begin Wednesday, Dec. 27.
