Library Plans Repairs, Posts Schedule Changes

Elizabethtown Public Library, 10 S. Market St., will have reduced hours during the week of the Elizabethtown Fair. The library will be open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. from Monday, Aug. 22, to Saturday, Aug. 27. Regular hours will resume on Monday, Aug. 29.

While the library is closed, it will make necessary repairs to the stairs and ramp at the parking lot entrance to the building. This entrance will not be available for use from Aug. 22 to 27. The repair work is weather dependent, and last-minute changes may occur.

People are asked to enter the library through the Market Street entrance, which is accessible for everyone, or the Coffee Company entrance, which has steps. Temporary handicapped-accessible parking will be available in front of the library on Market Street. The library's parking lot may be available for library clients depending on contractor needs. Regardless of where people park, only the Market Street entrances will be available until the work is completed.

Continued work on the elevator is also scheduled for fair week, and on Wednesday, Aug. 24, the elevator will be out of service for the entire day. The library plans for the elevator to be inaccessible on Wednesday only, although this schedule is subject to change.

The goal of the repairs is for the library to remain a safe and smoothly operating building to visit.
