Library Posts Concert, Fall Story Times

The Lititz Public Library, 651 Kissel Hill Road, has planned two events. The jazz group Temple Avenue will perform on Wednesday, Aug. 25, at 6:30 p.m. as part of the library's free, outdoor summer concerts.

Formed by Lancaster musicians and their friends at Temple University, the band performs jazz classics and other jazz and swing tunes at swing dances, concerts, church services, restaurants, and other venues.

No registration is required. Attendees should park on the library side of Sixth Street or in the library's parking lot. They should bring chairs or a blanket. In the event of inclement weather, the concert may be moved inside, but space will be limited and the CDC's COVID mitigation guidelines will be required.

The library's backyard will also be the site of Backyard Story Time from Tuesday, Sept. 7, to Thursday, Nov. 11.

Story times will take place on Tuesdays at 10 and 11 a.m., Wednesdays at 10 a.m. and 6:30 p.m., and Thursdays at 10 and 11 a.m. Under the direction of Amy Moyer and Shannon Richard, children of all ages and their caregivers may enjoy songs, nursery rhymes, and stories.

Registration is required in advance for one Backyard Story Time per week. Space is limited. Registration will begin on Monday, Aug. 23, through SignUpGenius. For more information and the link to register, visit http://www.lititzlibrary.org or call 717-626-2255.
