The Eastern Lancaster County Library, 11 Chestnut Drive, New Holland, will offer a variety of events and programs to the community. Registration is required for most activities. Weekly story time programs will be offered for young children. All programs will begin at 10:30 a.m. Preschool Story Time for children ages 3 to 6 will be held on Tuesdays. Toddler Thursdays will be held on Thursdays for children from birth to age 3 and their siblings.

Teen Tuesday Clubs will meet on Tuesdays from 3 to 4:30 p.m. Each week, youths age 12 and older will explore a special topic such as STEM, creative writing, arts and crafts, or book discussions.

Fire Prevention with Garden Spot Fire Rescue will be offered on Saturday, Oct. 1, at 11 a.m. The fire prevention and safety program will include a tour of a fire truck and is designed for students in kindergarten through grade three, plus families and caregivers.

"Finding Financial Freedom" will be presented by Christina Diehl at 2 p.m. on Oct. 1. Diehl will discuss her latest book, "MoneyGirl: How You Can Attract Wealth, Nurture Your Soul, and Obtain Financial Freedom," and provide information on financial topics. Readers' Roundtable Book Discussion will gather at 2 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 3. Attendees will discuss "After All" by Mary Tyler Moore.

Spooky Science and Scary Statistics will be held for teens on Wednesday, Oct. 5, at 3 p.m. The workshop will give attendees the tools to spot bad science.

STEM Workshop: Trees of PA will take place on Saturday, Oct. 8, at 11 a.m. Participants will learn how scientists like the ones in "Canopy Career Chronicles" by Greg Mercer identify trees, evaluate forest health, and protect Pennsylvania's forests. The workshop is designed for upper elementary school students to adults, but people of all ages are welcome. The program is part of the Longwood Gardens Community Read Program.

Hooks & Needles, a yarn craft club, will meet on Monday, Oct. 10, at 6:30 p.m. Knitters and crocheters will gather to work on projects. Beginners are welcome.

Lego Creation Club will gather on Thursday, Oct. 13, at 6 p.m. Participants will use Lego bricks to build themed creations, which will be displayed in the library.

Music & Movement will be held on Saturday, Oct. 15, at 11 a.m. for children from birth to age 6 with a parent or caregiver. This musical story time is designed to promote language development and reading readiness skills while providing young children with joyful introductions to a variety of music and music-making experiences.

An Author Talk will be held at 2 p.m. on Oct. 15. Robert Wyble will discuss "Life Together: Reflections on Faith, Love, and Caring for a Spouse With Alzheimer's."

STEM Workshop: Creatures of the Night will be offered on Monday, Oct. 17, at 6 p.m. Participants will learn about Pennsylvania's nocturnal creatures. The program is best suited for elementary school-age students, but all are welcome.

"Media Literacy: What's It All About?" will be presented on Thursday, Oct. 20, at 6:30 p.m. in the downstairs Board Room. Dr. Stacey Irwin, professor of communication and theater at Millersville University, will deliver the lecture and facilitate conversation.

Pumpkin Painting will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 26, at 6 p.m. Supplies will be provided. Registration will open on Oct. 3.

ELANCO Library's Autumn Jubilee will take place on Thursday, Nov. 3, from 6 to 8 p.m. at The Silk Mill on Main, 28 E. Main St., New Holland. The evening will feature hors d'oeuvres, entertainment, and a silent auction of cultivated items, including artwork and themed baskets.
