Library posts March schedule

Milanof-Schock Library, 1184 Anderson Ferry Road, Mount Joy, will offer a variety of programming. All programs are free, unless stated otherwise, and require preregistration. For more information and to register, visit http://www.mslibrary.org or call 717-653-1510.

The W Donuts food truck will be at the library on Wednesday, March 12, from 9 to 11 a.m., offering doughnuts for purchase.

Gently used books and media can be donated to the self-service shed behind the library on Mondays through Thursdays from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. and on Saturdays from 9 a.m. to noon.

The Cozy Up and Read Winter Reading Challenge will be available until Saturday, March 15. Families may pick up papers at the library; completed papers may be turned in to get a prize and be eligible for a giveaway drawing. Children can enter more than once.

Programs for children and teens will include Family Story Times on Wednesdays and Thursdays at 10:30 a.m.; Super Science, for kids age 4 and up, on Tuesday, March 4, at 10:30 a.m.; Fun Fort Friday for families on March 14 from 5 to 6 p.m.; Teen Chill & Draw with Hanna on Saturday, March 8, at 1 p.m.; Adventures with Baby on Monday, March 10, at 10:30 a.m. for children ages 6 months to 2 years; Lego Challenge on Tuesday, March 11, at 6 p.m.; and Fun Family Bingo on Tuesday, March 18, at 6 p.m.

Activities have been planned especially for homeschoolers age 7 and up. The programs will include Home School Art on March 11 at 10:30 a.m. and Homeschool STEM/History Mystery on March 18 at 10:30 a.m. Also, Homeschool Spanish will be held every Thursday from March 6 through April 10 at 1:30 p.m.; kids should plan to attend all classes, and they must be able to read and write.

Girl Power - Tales of Tenacious Women will be held on Thursday, March 6, at 6 p.m. Attendees will learn about prominent women and girls in history, as well as well-known fictional characters. The program will include stories, music, dance, and a craft.

Teen D&D, open to youths ages 12 to 19, will be held on Saturday, March 22, from 1 to 4 p.m. The group is currently full, but anyone who would like to participate in the future may contact Jan Betty at jbetty@mslibrary.org.

Reading the World will be offered on Thursday, March 27, at 6 p.m. The program will feature fairy tales from around the world through stories, games, music, and dances.

Activities for adults will include Adult Game Night on Wednesdays, March 5 and 19, at 5 p.m.; Closely Knit, for knitters and crocheters, on Mondays, March 10 and 24, at 1 p.m., with no registration necessary; Joyful Stitchers Cross-Stitch Club, for people of all skill levels, on March 15 from 9:15 a.m. to 12:45 p.m.; Make-It Monday: Sun Catchers on Monday, March 17, at 6 p.m.; and Book Discussion Group - Lit Lovers on Tuesday, March 25, at 6:30 p.m.

The Friends of the Library will meet on March 10 at 6:30 p.m.

Quilt Study will be held on March 12 at 12:30 p.m. Attendees will examine a quilt, including the pattern, fabric and stitches, and discuss topics such as who might have made the quilt, where the fabric came from, and the people who may have used it. No registration or library card are required.

A Jigsaw Puzzle Team Showdown will take place on March 15 from 1 to 3 p.m. Teams of up to four people will be given identical 500-piece puzzles and will race to complete the puzzle first. The winning team will receive a prize.

Easy Writer Club, for writers of all levels, will meet on March 19 at 6:30 p.m. No registration is required.

The library's board will meet on Thursday, March 20, at 6:30 p.m.
