Library posts October schedule

Kreutz Creek Library (KCL), 66 Walnut Springs Road, Hellam, will offer programs and services to the community. For details and registration, call the library at 717-252-4080 or visit http://www.yorklibraries.org.

The Friends of Kreutz Creek Library will be at the library to accept book donations from noon to 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 8, and Thursday, Oct. 24.

KCL's upcoming programs include Baby and Toddler Story Time for children from birth to age 3 on Wednesdays, Sept. 25 to Nov. 13, and Preschool Story Time for children ages 3 to 5 on Fridays, Sept. 27 to Nov. 15, with no program on Nov. 1. These programs will run from 10:30 to 11:15 a.m., and reservations are required.

A Fall Family Story Time will be held at Chick-fil-A, 2801 E. Market St., York, from 9 to 10 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 3.

Fall Family Story Times will be held from 10 to 10:45 a.m. at Flinchbaugh's Orchard & Farm Market, 110 Ducktown Road, Hellam, on Tuesdays, Oct. 1 to 29, rain or shine. Reservations are required.

The library will host a Silent Reading Group for people age 13 and up on Oct. 3 from 6 to 7:45 p.m. It will include trivia, refreshments, reading, and discussion about books.

Builder's Club, for kids ages 6 to 12, will be offered on Thursday, Oct. 17, from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. and on Saturday, Oct. 19, from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m.

Activities for tweens ages 9 to 11 will be offered on Tuesdays, Oct. 8 and 15, from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. The Danger Club will meet on Oct. 8, and Library Squad will gather on Oct. 15.

Birdie the therapy dog will visit the library to help youths ages 12 to 18 de-stress on Oct. 17 from 5 to 6 p.m.

Manga Book Club for youths ages 12 to 18 will take place on Oct. 19 from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. This program will occur after the library is closed to the public. Only youths attending this program will be allowed inside.

The Spoiler Alert! teen book review group will meet via Zoom on Oct. 3 from 5 to 6 p.m. Reservations are requested.

Project-based volunteering for youths ages 12 to 18 is also available. For more details or to offer an idea for a project, contact kreutzcreeklibrary@yorklibraries.org or Kayla at 717-252-4080.

Stitch and Chat groups, for knitters and crocheters, will meet on Oct. 3 and 17 from 6 to 7:45 p.m. and on Oct. 1 and 15 from 1 to 2:45 p.m.

Reiki Meditation with Miranda will take place on Saturday, Oct. 5, from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m.

York Chess Club, for people of all ages, will be held on Oct. 1, 8, and 15 from 6 to 8 p.m.

The Green Thumb Garden Club will meet on Thursday, Oct. 10, from 6:30 to 7:45 p.m. The program will be "Heavenly Sights, Sounds, and Scents in the Moonlight Garden" by Melanie Markowski.

A Celebration of Trees, for people of all ages, will take place on Saturday, Oct. 12, from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The event, part of a partnership between the library and Hellam Township's Environmental Council, will offer crafts, tree identification information, book displays, and information about promoting tree health and well-being. Attendees can visit the courtyard to learn how to plant a tree from an acorn and also take home an "acorn kit" to plant one of their own.

The Friends of Kreutz Creek Library will meet on Tuesday, Oct. 22, at 5:30 p.m.

The library and the Rotary Club of Eastern York County will host author Norina Bentzel on Wednesday, Oct. 23, from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. She will talk about her newly released memoir, "Glorious Sadness." Registration is requested.
