Library posts programs

Milanof-Schock Library, 1184 Anderson Ferry Road, Mount Joy, will offer a variety of programming. All programs are free, unless stated otherwise, and require preregistration. For more information and to register, visit http://www.mslibrary.org or call 717-653-1510.

Gently used books and media can be donated to the self-service shed behind the library on Mondays through Thursdays from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. and on Saturdays from 9 a.m. to noon.

Programs for children and teens include Fun Fort Friday for families on Sept. 13 from 5 to 6 p.m.; Teen Chill & Draw with Hanna on Saturday, Sept. 14, at 1 p.m.; Adventures with Baby on Monday, Sept. 9, at 10:30 a.m. for children ages 6 months to 2 years; Lego Challenge on Tuesday, Sept. 10, at 6 p.m.; Fun Family Bingo on Tuesday, Sept. 17, at 6 p.m.; and Wee Build Free Build on Monday, Sept. 30, at 10:30 a.m.

Family Story Time will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesdays and Thursdays in September.

Activities have been planned especially for homeschoolers age 7 and up. Two identical sessions of each class will be offered. The programs will be Home School Art Class on Sept. 10 at 10:30 a.m. and Thursday, Sept. 12, at 1:30 p.m.; Homeschool STEM on Sept. 17 at 10:30 a.m. and Thursday, Sept. 19, at 1:30 p.m.; and Homeschool History/Mystery on Tuesday, Sept. 24, at 10:30 a.m. and Thursday, Sept. 26, at 1:30 p.m.

Marietta Family Story Time will be held at 100 W. Market St., Marietta, inside the old First National Bank, on Friday, Sept. 20, at 10:30 a.m.

Teen D&D, open to youths ages 12 to 19, will be held on Saturday, Sept. 28, from 1 to 4 p.m. Interested individuals may contact Jan Betty at jbetty@mslibrary.org.

Activities for adults will include Adult Game Night on Wednesday, Sept. 18, at 5 p.m.; Closely Knit, for knitters and crocheters, on Mondays, Sept. 9 and 23, at 1 p.m., with no registration necessary; Quilt Study on Wednesday, Sept. 11, at 12:30 p.m.; book bingo on Sept. 18 at 2 p.m.; Easy Writer Club, for writers of all levels, on Sept. 18 at 6:30 p.m., with no registration required; Joyful Stitchers Cross-Stitch Club, for people of all skill levels, on Saturday, Sept. 21, from 9:15 a.m. to 12:45 p.m.; Lit Lovers Book Discussion Group on Tuesday, Sept. 24, at 6:30 p.m.; and Make-It Monday - Chill Out and Color, for people age 14 and up, on Monday, Sept. 23, at 6 p.m.

The Friends of the Library will have its monthly meeting on Sept. 9 at 6:30 p.m.

Intro to Sourdough Baking will offer an opportunity to learn the basics of sourdough baking and how to make sourdough starter. Participants will leave with their own starter. This program is set for Monday, Sept. 16, at 6 p.m.

Community members are welcome to attend the library's board meeting on Sept. 19 at 6:30 p.m.

The Adventurous World of Medical Missions will be presented on Sept. 30 at 6 p.m. Meg from the "Renewed Nurse" podcast and her friend Sarah will talk about their experiences serving abroad as traveling nurses. They will also share information about opportunities for serving overseas on medical missions.
