Library posts schedule of events

Milanof-Schock Library, 1184 Anderson Ferry Road, Mount Joy, will offer a variety of programming. All programs are free, unless stated otherwise, and require preregistration. For more information and to register, visit http://www.mslibrary.org or call 717-653-1510.

Food trucks will be on-site at the library on select Thursdays. On May 2, W Donuts will be present from 10 a.m. until sold out, and on May 30, Next Level Pizza and Cupcakes by Casey will serve food from 5 to 7 p.m. Summer Food Truck Thursdays will begin June 6.

The library will be closed on Saturday, May 25, and Monday, May 27.

Gently used books and media can be donated to the self-service shed behind the library on Mondays through Thursdays from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. and on Saturdays from 9 a.m. to noon.

Programs for children and teens include Super Science, for children age 4 and up, on Tuesday, May 7, at 10:30 a.m.; Fun Fort Friday for families on May 10 from 5 to 6 p.m.; Teen Chill & Draw with Hanna on Saturday, May 11, at 1 p.m.; Adventures with Baby on Monday, May 13, at 10:30 a.m. for children ages 6 months to 2 years; Lego Challenge on Tuesday, May 14, at 6 p.m.; and Fun Family Bingo on Tuesday, May 21, at 6 p.m.

Family Story Time will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesdays and Thursdays from May 1 to 23.

Activities have been planned especially for homeschoolers age 7 and up. Homeschool Art Class will be offered on Thursday, May 9, at 1:30 p.m. and May 14 at 10:30 a.m. Homeschool STEM/History Mystery will be held on Thursday, May 16, at 1:30 p.m. and May 21 at 10:30 a.m.

Marietta Family Story Time will be held on Friday, May 17, at 10:30 a.m. inside the old First National Bank, 100 W. Market St., Marietta.

Teen D&D, open to youths ages 12 to 19, will be held on Saturday, May 18, from 1 to 4 p.m. Interested individuals may contact Jan Betty at jbetty@mslibrary.org.

Community members are invited to help decorate the library's float for the Memorial Day Parade on Friday, May 24, from 4 to 7 p.m. People of all ages are welcome to participate in the drop-in event. Community members may also ride on the float during the parade on May 25, and those who are interested may call Miss Jan at the library.

The Summer Reading Program kickoff event will occur on Saturday, June 1, from 9 a.m. to noon. Attendees may sign up for summer programs, pick up Summer Reading Program packets, and visit activity stations.

Activities for adults will include Adult Game Night on Wednesdays, May 1 and 15, at 5 p.m.; Closely Knit, for knitters and crocheters, on May 13 at 1 p.m., with no registration necessary; book bingo on May 15 at 2 p.m.; Easy Writer Club, for writers of all levels, on May 15 at 6:30 p.m., with no registration required; Joyful Stitchers Cross-Stitch Club, for people of all skill levels, on May 18 from 9:15 a.m. to 12:45 p.m.; Make-It Monday - Cupcake Decorating with Tess, for people age 14 and up, on May 20 at 6 p.m.; and Lit Lovers Book Discussion Group on Tuesday, May 28, at 6:30 p.m.

The library will host a plant exchange on May 11 in the courtyard. People may bring plants to the library at 9:30 a.m., and the exchange will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Participants are asked to bring their plants in containers they do not need back and to mark each container with the plant's name.

The Friends of the Library will meet on May 13 at 6:30 p.m.

The library board will meet on May 16 at 6:30 p.m.
