Library posts September activities

Kreutz Creek Library (KCL), 66 Walnut Springs Road, Hellam, will offer programs and services to the community. For details and registration, call the library at 717-252-4080 or visit http://www.yorklibraries.org.

The Friends of Kreutz Creek Library will be at the library to accept book donations from noon to 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 3, and Thursday, Sept. 19.

KCL's upcoming programs include Baby and Toddler Story Time for children from birth to age 3 on Wednesdays, Sept. 25 to Nov. 13, and Preschool Story Time for children ages 3 to 5 on Fridays, Sept. 27 to Nov. 15, with no program on Nov. 1. These programs will run from 10:30 to 11:15 a.m., and reservations are required.

A Fall Family Story Time will be held at Chick-fil-A, 2801 E. Market St., York, from 9 to 10 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 5.

Fall Family Story Times will be held from 10 to 10:45 a.m. at Flinchbaugh's Orchard & Farm Market, 110 Ducktown Road, Hellam, on Tuesdays, Sept. 10, 17, and 24, rain or shine. Reservations are required.

The library will host a Silent Reading Party for people age 13 and up on Sept. 5 from 6 to 7:45 p.m. It will include trivia, refreshments, reading, and discussion about books.

Builder's Club, for kids ages 6 to 12, will be offered on Sept. 19 from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. and on Saturday, Sept. 21, from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m.

Activities for tweens ages 9 to 11 will be offered on Sept. 10 and 17 from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. The Danger Club will meet on Sept. 10, and Library Squad will gather on Sept. 17.

Birdie the therapy dog will visit the library to help teens de-stress on Sept. 19 from 5 to 6 p.m.

Manga Book Club for teens will take place on Sept. 21 from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. This program will occur after the library is closed to the public. Only teens attending this program will be allowed inside.

The Spoiler Alert! teen book review group will meet via Zoom on Sept. 5 from 5 to 6 p.m. Reservations are required.

Project-based volunteering for youths ages 12 to 18 is also available. For more details or to offer an idea for a project, contact kreutzcreeklibrary@yorklibraries.org or Kayla at 717-252-4080.

Stitch and Chat groups, for knitters and crocheters, will meet on Sept. 5 and 19 from 6 to 7:45 p.m. and on Tuesdays, Sept. 3 and 17, from 1 to 2:45 p.m.

Reiki Meditation with Miranda will take place on Saturday, Sept. 7, from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m.

York Chess Club, for people of all ages, will be held on Sept. 3, 10, and 17 from 6 to 8 p.m.

The Green Thumb Garden Club will meet on Thursday, Sept. 12, from 6:30 to 7:45 p.m. The program will be "September in the Vegetable Garden (Will This Still Grow in Time?)" by Melanie Markowski.

The Cookbook Discussion Group will meet on Sept. 26 from 6 to 7:45 p.m. Attendees are asked to bring a prepared dish related to the theme "Family Favorite" and a copy of the recipe. Reservations are required.

The Friends of Kreutz Creek Library will meet on Sept. 24 at 5:30 p.m.

The library Friends group will hold a puzzle swap on Saturday, Sept. 14, from 10 a.m. to noon. People may bring jigsaw puzzles to trade for other puzzles. Those without a puzzle to trade may purchase one.

The Friends' used book, puzzle, and bake sale will take place on Friday, Sept. 27, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and on Saturday, Sept. 28, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Hellam Township Public Works Building, located across from the library. Attendees may purchase gently used books, audiobooks, DVDs, music CDs, jigsaw puzzles, and more.
