Library Sets February Programming

Milanof-Schock Library, 1184 Anderson Ferry Road, Mount Joy, has posted its upcoming programs. Unless otherwise noted, all programs are free and require registration by visiting http://www.mslibrary.org or calling 717-653-1510.

The library will be closed on Monday, Feb. 20.

Gently used books and media can be donated to the self-service shed behind the library on Tuesdays through Thursdays from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. and on Saturdays from 9 a.m. to noon.

The Winter Reading Program will continue in February, with the children's program taking place through Monday, Feb. 27, and the adults' program being offered through Tuesday, Feb. 28. Bingo cards may be picked up at the library.

Activities will include story times for families at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesdays and Thursdays from Feb. 1 to 23; Super Science for children age 3 and up on Tuesday, Feb. 7, at 10:30 a.m.; Snorey Time Story Time, for which attendees may wear pajamas and slippers, on Feb. 7 at 6 p.m.; Fun Fort Friday for families on Feb. 10 from 5 to 6 p.m.; Lego Challenge on Tuesday, Feb. 14, at 6 p.m.; and Fun Family Bingo for people age 7 and up on Tuesday, Feb. 21, at 6 p.m.

Three activities have been planned especially for homeschoolers age 7 and up. For each program, identical sessions will be held on a Thursday at 1:30 p.m. and a Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. The programs will be Homeschool Art Class on Feb. 9 and 14, Homeschool STEM on Feb. 16 and 21, and Homeschool History Mystery on Feb. 23 and 28.

Feed the Birds with Miss Jan has been set for 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 4. People of any age may use provided materials to make pinecone bird feeders for Miss Jan to hang in the trees out front of the library.

Boredom Buster Family Movie Afternoon will take place on Saturday, Feb. 18, at 1:30 p.m. Families are invited to enjoy popcorn and a showing of the family film "Fly Away Home." The movie is recommended for children age 8 and older.

A puzzle swap is available at the library. Patrons may bring a puzzle to give away and take a puzzle.

Activities for adults are as follows: game night on Wednesday, Feb. 1, at 6 p.m.; Closely Knit, for knitters and crocheters, on Mondays, Feb. 13 and 27, at 1 p.m., with no registration necessary; the library's Friends group's meeting on Feb. 13 at 6 p.m.; Easy Writer Club, for writers of all levels, on Wednesday, Feb. 15, at 6:30 p.m., with no registration required; Joyful Stitchers Cross-Stitch Club, for people of all skill levels, on Saturday, Feb. 18, from 9:15 a.m. to 12:45 p.m.; Make-It Monday - "The Art of Collage," featuring Susan Darling, on Feb. 27 at 6 p.m., for people age 16 and up, with materials provided; and Book Discussion Group - Lit Lovers, discussing "The Alice Network" by Kate Quinn on Feb. 28 at 6:30 p.m.

A Movie Matinee program will take place on Feb. 14 at 1:30 p.m. People are invited to bring their own lawn or beach chair for additional comfort as they watch "Seven Brides for Seven Brothers." Popcorn will be provided.
