License plate replacement event set

The office of Sen. Scott Martin will host a damaged license plate replacement event with the East Earl Township Police Department on Tuesday, July 9, from 5 to 7 p.m. The event will be held at the East Earl Township Maintenance Building, 155 Ewell Road. There is no fee for this service, but motorists are asked to preregister by calling Martin's Strasburg district office at 717-397-1309.

Damaged plates have loss of reflectivity, peeling, blistering or dislocation, and they cannot be read from 50 feet away. Law enforcement representatives will determine if a motorist's plate needs to be replaced and will help with completing the appropriate paperwork. Once PennDOT receives the paperwork, the replacement plate will be mailed to the motorist's home address.
