East Hanover Lions Club awarded two $1,000 Jonas J. Walmer Service Scholarships for 2022. Jonas J. Walmer was the club's last charter member, and he believed in the importance of giving back to his community, his church and people in need. His life exemplified the Lions Club motto, "We Serve." The recipients of the scholarship were chosen for demonstrating the same qualities.

The honorees are Emily Dickinson, from Lower Dauphin High School, who will attend Susquehanna University, and Rachel Swank, from Northern Lebanon High School, who will attend Penn State University.
