Lions Club honors LCCTC students

Elizabethtown Lions Club announced that Elizabethtown Area High School (EAHS) senior Kacey Heisey was the Student of the Month for September, and EAHS senior Lana Stum was the Student of the Month for October. To be considered for the Student of the Month honor, students must be enrolled in the Lancaster County Career and Technology Center (LCCTC) and exhibit exceptional work ethic, skills, and knowledge in their respective subject areas.

Kacey is the daughter of Brian and Melissa Heisey of Elizabethtown. Kacey is enrolled in the veterinary assistant program at the LCCTC Willow Street campus. Within this comprehensive program, she is acquiring knowledge in areas such as anatomy and physiology, proper animal handling techniques, grooming practices, and the operation of essential equipment like autoclaves. After graduation, she plans to enroll in a veterinary technician program.

Stum is a student in the welding program at the Mount Joy campus of LCCTC. She noted that she has always thrived in hands-on learning experiences more than in a traditional classroom setting. As a junior, Stum completed the Protective Services Academy at CTC, and one of the credentials she earned in this program also helped her to obtain her current welding position, which required this additional credentialing. Stum intends to continue in the welding industry but would eventually like to build her own home and have land to own horses. She is involved in the Mount Joy CTC Student Ambassadors program. Outside of school, she is a member of the Bainbridge Fire Department.
