Elizabethtown Lions Club named Danica Allman the Lancaster County Career & Technology Center (LCCTC) Student of the Month for December. Allman is enrolled in the veterinary assistant program at LCCTC.

Allman had always wanted to help animals and care for them, and she chose to enter her current educational track after attending an open house at LCCTC. Currently, she is learning how to groom animals, properly restrain animals, develop nutritious diets for pets, take X-rays, provide good customer service, and assist in surgery. She is also learning the anatomy and physiology of dogs, cats, and pocket pets, and a recent topic of study was the skeletal system.

Allman's extracurricular activities through Elizabethtown Area High School and LCCTC have included girls' soccer, Student Lighthouse, Paws & Think, National Technical Honor Society, and the LCCTC Ambassador Program. She has also been involved in recreational soccer at Spooky Nook.

After graduation, Danica plans to complete her course of study at LCCTC and pursue a career as a certified veterinary technician.
