The Mount Joy Lions Club will hold a pancake breakfast on Saturday, Oct. 12, in the basement social hall of Trinity Lutheran Church, 47 W. Main St., Mount Joy. Youths and parents from the Mount Joy Lions Swim Team will assist the Lions Club in serving the meal. The Mount Joy Lions Club has supported the swim team for many years.

The breakfast will include all-you-can-eat pancakes, accompanied by sausage, scrambled eggs, juice, coffee, and tea. Serving will begin at 7:30 a.m. and conclude at 11 a.m.

Tickets are required and are available from club and swim team members and at the door. There is a discount for children ages 4 to 12, and children age 3 and under may eat for free. Guests may enter from the parking area behind the church.

Donations of nonperishable food for the Mount Joy Food Bank will be accepted.

Proceeds from the breakfast will support community projects. Each year, the Lions Club donates approximately $8,000 to support local and global needs. Among the local projects the club supports in addition to the Mount Joy Lions Swim Team are Milanof-Schock Library, Mount Joy Food Bank, Raise28, Fire Department Mount Joy, VisionCorps, Donegal Power Packs, and Beacon Lodge Camp. The club also presents awards to graduates of Donegal High School and the Lancaster County Career & Technology Center and facilitates vision screenings for Donegal kindergarten enrollees. The club's environmental projects include collecting used eyeglasses that are sent to people in need around the world and collecting clean plastic bags that are recycled into benches placed around the community.
