The Hershey Lions Club was recently honored with a presentation by Abraham "Abe" Leshko, head coach of the Hershey Lions Little League baseball team the club sponsors, along with his son, team member Kyle, 6.

The presentation occurred during a Lions Club meeting and cookout in June. Abe shared that he enjoyed seeing the players increase their skills and build trust with each other throughout the season. The team had 10 players on the roster this year and was scheduled to play 15 regular season games. Patrick McDonald is the assistant coach.

The Hershey Little League offers instructional and competitive baseball programs for Derry Township and local youths ages 4 to 19. The organization seeks to mold future citizens while promoting the ideals of good sportsmanship, honesty, loyalty, courage, and respect for authority, while having fun. Lions Clubs are groups of men, women and families who identify needs within the community and work together to fulfill those needs. Among its initiatives, the Hershey Lions Club has historically sponsored youth sports.
