Lions Club Thanks Fire Rescue Volunteers

The Millersville Lions Club recognized Blue Rock Fire Rescue on Oct. 11 by giving Sheetz gift cards to 78 volunteer members to thank them for their service to the community. Lions president Pat Benson spoke before presenting the gift cards, saying that the Lions and the volunteer firefighters have a common goal to serve. He added that the Lions chose to give Sheetz cards so the Blue Rock volunteers could purchase gas for their vehicles.

The Lions Club holds various fundraisers throughout the year, such as bingo, splash parties at the Millersville Lions Club Pool and the annual Mike Schaeffer Doggie Dip. The funds raised all go back to the community. The club meets on the second and fourth Tuesdays of each month in the parish activity center at St. Philip the Apostle Roman Catholic Church, 2111 Millersville Pike, Lancaster, at 6:30 p.m. Visitors are welcome.
