The Lower Swatara Lions Club will host a community tree-lighting event on Friday, Dec. 1, at the Lions building in Shope Gardens, 2 Theodore Ave., Middletown. Festivities will begin at 4:30 p.m., and the tree lighting will take place at approximately 6 p.m.

Two food trucks - Gio's Smokin' Grill and Cafe 301 - will offer food and refreshments starting at 5 p.m. The Middletown Senior High School Select Choir will provide carols.
