Lititz Library Posts April Schedule

Members of the Blanketeers will gather to create blankets of various kinds for Project Linus on Tuesdays, April 7 and 21, at 2 p.m.

Grief Stories will be held on Monday, April 6, at 6 p.m. Grief Stories provides a space for hearing firsthand accounts of overcoming a tragic death and living with hope and purpose.

The library will offer several ongoing programs. These activities include Knitting Club, for knitters and crocheters, on Mondays, April 6 and 20, at 10 a.m. and Tuesdays, April 14 and 28, at 6 p.m.; Baked Books Club on April 14 at 2 p.m.; Lititz Game Club, for players age 10 and older, on Wednesdays, April 1 and 15, at 4:30 p.m.; Astronomy Enthusiasts of Lancaster County on April 1 at 6 p.m.; Painting Club on Wednesdays, April 8 and 22, at 12:30 p.m.; Lego Club, for children ages 6 to 10, on Saturday, April 18, from 10 to 11 a.m.; Great Decisions Discussion Group on April 8 at 6:30 p.m.; Exploring, Growing Together on Thursdays, April 9 and 23, at 11 a.m.; Writing Club on April 20 at 1 p.m.; Red Rose Quilters Guild of Lancaster Embroidery Mini Group on April 22 at 1:30 p.m.; Accessible Yoga with Black Cat Yoga on April 14 at 6:30 p.m. and Friday, April 24, at 10 a.m.; Lititz Art Association on April 28 at 6 p.m.; and BYOB Book Club, for which attendees may bring whatever they are currently reading, on April 30 at 2 p.m.

The Lititz Garden Club will meet on Thursday, April 2, at 6 p.m. A program on spring ephemerals will be presented by Master Gardener Lisa Hochreiter. No registration is needed.

The Literary Travelers Book Club will meet on April 3 at 10 a.m. For more information, contact Diane at dguscott@lititzlibrary.org.

The Lititz Historical Foundation will offer a program on April 18 at 1:30 p.m. Dominish Miller will present "Pennsylvania Women of World War II."

The Jane Austen Society of Lancaster County will meet on April 21 at 6:30 p.m. Attendees will discuss Jane Austen and enjoy tea and treats.

The featured book for the Spring StoryWalk is "A Little More Beautiful" by Sarah Mackenzie.

During the Paws to Read program, children may read stories to trained therapy dogs. The program will be offered on Saturdays, April 11 and 25, at 10 a.m.

Cruise Into Kindergarten, for children ages 3 to 6, will be held on April 20 at 6:30 p.m.

The library will offer three-week parachute classes for children from April 13 to 30. Parachute Play, for children ages 3 to 5 who may attend independent of a caregiver, will take place on Mondays and Tuesdays. Little Parachute, for children ages 1 and 2 with a caregiver, will take place on Wednesdays and Thursdays. Visit the aforementioned website for specific times and to register.

"Earth Day Fun!" will be hosted by Warwick High School's Environmental Action Club on Monday, April 20, at 6 p.m. Attendees will learn about taking care of the Earth and participate in hands-on stations. The program is geared for children age 5 and up.

During Architecture Week, the American Institute of Architects (AIA) Pennsylvania will sponsor architect-led activities. On Thursday, April 16, at 3:30 p.m., there will be a read-aloud of "Iggy Peck, Architect" by Andrea Beauty. Children will be able to meet an architect and design a space for animals using architectural ideas. The program is geared for children ages 5 to 12.

The Warwick Lions Club will lead an Earth Day read-aloud and craft on April 9 at 6 p.m. The program is geared for children age 5 and up.

Backyard Storytime will be held on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from April 7 through May 27. Story time meets on Tuesdays at 10:30 a.m. and on Wednesdays at 11:30 a.m. and 6 p.m. at the Veteran's Honor Park, weather permitting. Registration is required weekly.

YWCA Lancaster will present storytime on April 6 at 10 a.m. The program will include a read-aloud of "I Am Peace: A Book of Mindfulness" and "Same Love, Different Hug," as well as a craft.

In honor of National Poetry Month, open mic poetry night will be held on April 30 at 6 p.m. Each poet/reader will have five minutes to recite his or her poems.

A concert featuring Carl Kline on acoustic guitar will be offered on April 16 at 6:30 p.m.
