Lititz Library posts calendar

Lititz Public Library, 651 Kissel Hill Road, Lititz, will offer a variety of activities to the community. Preregistration is not required for most programs. For more details and registration, contact the library at 717-626-2255 or register@lititzlibrary.org or visit http://www.lititzlibrary.org.

The library offers several ongoing programs. Morning Yoga will take place at 9 a.m. on Fridays. Tai Chi Easy will begin at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, March 7. Astronomy Enthusiasts of Lancaster County will meet at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, March 1. Lititz Game Club for players age 10 and older will meet at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesdays, March 1 and 15. Lititz Garden Club will meet on Thursday, March 2, at 6:30 p.m. to discuss native plants and sustainable gardening. The Knitting Club will meet at 10 a.m. on Mondays, March 6 and 20, and at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, March 28. The Painting Club will meet at 12:30 p.m. on Wednesdays, March 8 and 22. Great Decisions Discussion Group will meet on March 8 at 6:30 p.m. Jane Austen Society will meet on Tuesday, March 21, at 6:30 p.m. to enjoy tea and all things Austen. Lititz Art Association will meet on March 28 at 6 p.m.

The Blanketeers will meet on March 7 and 21 at 2 p.m. The group's members gather to socialize and create blankets of various kinds for Project Linus to distribute to children who are seriously ill, traumatized, or otherwise in need of the blankets. The library and special guest readers from the Warwick High School musical will present a Dr. Seuss Read Aloud and Craft Program at the library on March 2 at 4 p.m. Children of all ages are welcome.

Hygge at the Library will be held on Thursday, March 16, at 6 p.m. Attendees will learn how to practice the Danish art of coziness and how to live a happier and more mindful life. Online registration is required and will begin on March 2.

Cruise Into Kindergarten: Rain, Rain, Go Away will meet on March 20 at 6:30 p.m. The program is geared to children ages 3 to 6 and is based on the national Every Child Ready to Read program. After hearing a story, children and caregivers will visit stations intended to help with skills that children need to start school. Registration is required.

The Lititz Historical Foundation will present a program on the history of Watt & Shand on Saturday, March 25, at 10:30 a.m. The program will be repeated at 1:30 p.m. "Watt & Shand: East, West, Hame's Best" is the history of the store that opened on March 9, 1878, at 20-22 E. King St., Lancaster. Copies of the book will be available for purchase. Cash transactions are requested. Registration will open on Friday, March 10, and registrants should indicate which session they are registering for.

A concert featuring Fire in the Glen will take place on Thursday, March 30, at 6:30 p.m. Focusing on Irish, Scottish, and maritime music as well as its own brand of Celtic eclectic, Fire in the Glen will perform fiddle tunes and ballads. Registration is required and will begin March 16.

The library's Winter StoryWalk title is "A Penguin Story" by Antoinette Portis. The StoryWalk begins to the right of the library entrance and moves counterclockwise around the library and combines taking a walk and reading a book.
