Lititz Library Posts Schedule

Lititz Public Library, 651 Kissel Hill Road, Lititz, will offer a variety of activities for patrons of all ages in September. For more details and registration, call 717-626-2255 or visit http://www.lititzlibrary.org.

The library will be closed on Monday, Sept. 1, in honor of Labor Day.

The Friends of the Lititz Library Book Sale will be held on Thursday, Sept. 11, from 9 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.; on Friday, Sept. 12, from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.; and on Saturday, Sept. 13, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. A bag sale will begin on Sept. 13 at noon.

The Friends of the Lititz Public Library jewelry sale will be held on Friday, Sept. 26, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., and on Saturday, Sept. 27, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Members of the Blanketeers will gather to create blankets of various kinds for Project Linus on Tuesdays, Sept. 2 and 16, at 2 p.m.

Grief Stories will be held on Monday, Sept. 8, at 6 p.m. Grief Stories provides a space for hearing firsthand accounts of overcoming a tragic death and living with hope and purpose. Brenda Murphy will speak about suicide.

The library will offer several ongoing programs. These activities include Knitting Club, for knitters and crocheters, on Monday, Sept. 15, at 10 a.m. and Tuesdays, Sept. 9 and 30, at 6 p.m.; Baked Books Club on Sept. 9 at 2 p.m.; Beginner Tai Chi Easy on Sept. 2 at 6:30 p.m.; Lititz Game Club, for players age 10 and older, on Wednesdays, Sept. 3 and 17, at 4:30 p.m.; Astronomy Enthusiasts of Lancaster County on Sept. 3 at 6 p.m.; Painting Club on Wednesdays, Sept. 10 and 24, at 12:30 p.m.; Great Decisions Discussion Group on Sept. 10 at 6:30 p.m.; Writing Club on Sept. 15 at 1 p.m.; Red Rose Quilters Guild of Lancaster Embroidery Mini Group on Sept. 24 at 1:30 p.m.; Sewcial Sewing Club on Sept. 24 at 6 p.m.; Accessible Yoga with Black Cat Yoga on Friday, Sept. 19, at 10 a.m.; Lititz Art Association, on Saturday, Sept. 20, at 6:30 p.m. (no registration is required); and BYOB Book Club, for which attendees may bring whatever they are currently reading, on Thursday, Sept. 18, at 2 p.m.

Door Mat Art for people age 18 and over will meet on Sept. 17 at 6 p.m. Attendees will create a decorative door mat for the fall.

A free indoor concert will be presented by The Knotwork Band on Sept. 20 at 1:30 p.m. The band features a trio of musicians who perform Celtic folk music, both traditional and modern.

A fall soup swap will take place at the library on Tuesday, Sept. 23, at 6 p.m. Attendees should bring two pots/crockpots of their favorite soup - one for tasting and one for sharing. The group will swap recipes and try multiple flavors. Small containers will be provided so attendees can take home their favorite soup.

The following programs will be offered for children: Backyard Storytimes, Sept. 3 through Thursday, Oct. 23, Wednesdays at 11:30 a.m. and 6 p.m. and Thursdays at 10:30 a.m.; Cruise into Kindergarten: Fall Leaves Fall story time for children ages 3 to 6, Sept. 15, 6:30 p.m.; Lego Club, Sept. 20, 10 to 11 a.m. for children ages 6 to 10; and Paws to Read, where children can read to a therapy dog, Sept. 13 and 27, 10 to 11:30 a.m.

Indoor Storytimes will be offered from Sept. 15 through Thursday, Nov. 20, for children age 6 months through 5 years, including Little Steps for children ages 6 to 24 months with a caregiver on Tuesdays at 9:30 and 10:30 a.m. and at 6 p.m., Wednesdays at 9:30 and 10:30 a.m. and Thursdays at 9:30 a.m. Toddler Storytime for children ages 2 to 3 with one caregiver will be held on Mondays at 9:30 a.m., on Tuesdays at 10:30 and 11:30 a.m., on Wednesdays at 10:30 a.m. and on Thursdays at 9:30 a.m. Preschool Storytime for children ages 3 to 5 years independent of a caregiver will be offered on Mondays at 10:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m., Tuesdays at 9:30 a.m.,Wednesdays at 9:30 a.m. and Thursdays at 11:30 a.m.
