Lititz Pretzel Fest scheduled

The Kiwanis Club of Lititz Area will host the 2023 Lititz Pretzel Fest in downtown Lititz on Saturday, May 6, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Downtown parking will be free the day of the event. The Lititz Pretzel Fest will be held rain or shine.

Highlighting the area's rich pretzel history, the Lititz Pretzel Fest will include numerous sweet and savory samplings at about 24 locations, with pretzels as the key ingredient. There will also be beverage tastings at five sites and live music.

Ticket holders will be able to vote for their favorites in four categories: sweet, savory, creative, and beverage. In contention will be honey habanero pretzel-encrusted chicken bites with Mountain Lager at Appalachian Brewing Company and the chipotle pretzel bark with smoked gouda and Wilbur Chocolate from Hearth and Harrow's chef.

Some new additions will be Brazilian pretzel pizza at Brazilian Table and smoked Buffalo chicken dip at Tied House, as well as a cannoli pretzel parfait at Piccolo Eatery. Pretzel biscottis will be served with a sample of sea salt caramel coffee at Pebbles and Lace, and chocolate chip cheesecake dip will be available at Moravian House Antiques.

Julius Sturgis Pretzel Bakery, event co-sponsor, provides all the pretzels used as ingredients and pretzels to accompany adult tastings. Anyone who wants to volunteer to mark tickets or help serve treats should contact Melissa Warner at geom1948@gmail.com or call 717-468-7665. Volunteers will receive vouchers to a few tasting stops.

Tickets are limited and have sold out in previous years. To purchase tickets, visit http://www.lititzpretzelfest.com. For more information, call the club's hotline at 717-560-2295, email kiwanisclublititz@gmail.com, or visit the Lititz Pretzel Fest's Facebook page. Proceeds will support Kiwanis' Kids Free Fun Day in Lititz Springs Park on Saturday, May 20, as well as other children's charities.
