Local author sets book launch

East Hempfield Township resident Jeanne Moran recently announced the launch of her fourth book for young readers, a whimsical middle grade fantasy titled "Someone for Sasquatch." Ideal for readers ages 8 to 12, the story involves a magic-filled contest in which two fairies, one creative and the other a stubborn traditionalist, compete to find a human companion for the loneliest creature on earth, Sasquatch.

Moran's previous works, a picture book and two young adult historical novels, have won numerous awards and praise from readers around the world. Her shorter works have appeared in national magazines for children, parents and people of faith, as well in as the "Chicken Soup for the Soul" series.

She has shared her research, writing and publication journeys at local libraries, schools and Rotary Clubs. She is an active member of Pennwriters and the Society for Children's Book Writers and Illustrators, and is a volunteer advocate with CASA of Lancaster and Lebanon Counties.

Moran will be present at several upcoming events: the Gaithersburg Book Festival on Saturday, May 20, at 506 S. Frederick Ave., Gaithersburg, Md., and the Middletown Area Historical Society's Arts and Crafts Show on Saturday, June 10, at 29 E. Main St., Middletown.

"Someone for Sasquatch" is available in e-book form and in print. More information about Moran, her books and her events can be found at http://www.jeannemoran.weebly.com.
