Local businesswoman honored

Local businesswoman Patricia "Trish" Doll, owner of Publicity Works, a marketing-public relations (PR) firm, has recently been honored with the 2023 Central Penn Business Journal's Central Pennsylvania Women of Influence Award. The awards ceremony was held at the Sheraton Harrisburg Hershey Hotel.

The Women of Influence awards were created to recognize women leaders who are influential in their companies, industries and communities. The award winners are selected based on their professional leadership, significant contributions to the community and commitment to mentoring. Doll previously received this award in 2011.

Recognizing the importance of PR and its impact on marketing, Doll founded Publicity Works in 1990. The agency represents a diverse local, national and international roster of clientele and is state certified as a WBE woman-owned business enterprise.

While the agency has won a number of awards for marketing, advertising and PR excellence, Doll has been singled out for her own achievements and generosity in assisting others with several awards and commendations. Doll has won the ATHENA International Leadership Award and is an ambassador emerita; the Governor's PA Best 50 Women in Business; the Greater Reading Chamber Alliance Shining Star Award for 30 years of community service; David Rockefeller's BCA 10: Top Ten Companies in America that Support the Arts by Americans for the Arts; Millersville University's Distinguished Alumni Service Award; Central Penn Business Journal's Top Forty Under 40; two American Heart Association Awards; and the SBA Women's Business Advocate award, which honors the nation's top entrepreneurs.

Also an accomplished violinist certified in hospice music therapy, Doll has been featured in the press, including international PRWeek, for her service of serenading clientele with her violin.
