Local CAP member named top in the region

Members of the Jesse Jones Composite Squadron 304 of the Civil Air Patrol (CAP) earned awards during the annual meeting of the Pennsylvania Wing's Group 2. The awards were presented at the annual conference at Fort Indiantown Gap, Annville, on Dec. 10. Group 2 comprises seven squadrons from Gettysburg to Reading and is one of six groups in the Pennsylvania Wing.

Senior member 1st Lt. Donny Reisch was named Senior Member of the Year for Group 2, Maj. Carlton "Skip" Walls was recognized as Communicator of the Year and 2nd Lt. Krystal Shannon received the Public Affairs Officer of the Year award. Additionally, Brig. Gen. Mark A. Goodwill, who also served as the keynote speaker, presented cadets in Group 2 with milestone awards they had earned throughout the year.

Jesse Jones Squadron 304 meets at 7 p.m. each Monday except holidays in the Venture Jets hangar, which is located at the Lancaster Airport near the intersection of Lititz Pike and Millport Road. Visitors are welcome.
