Local Contractors Earn National Awards

ABC Keystone recently announced that member companies won ABC National Excellence in Construction (EIC) awards, presented during the ABC Convention, held on March 10 in Grapevine, Texas. The EIC awards program is a national competition that honors general and specialty contractors for world-class, safe, and innovative construction projects.

The EIC awards honor every member of the construction team, including the contractor, owner, architect and engineer. The winning projects, selected from entries across the nation, are judged on complexity, attractiveness, unique challenges overcome, completion time, workmanship, innovation, safety and cost.

A panel of industry experts served as the competition's judges. This year's panel included representatives from Building Owners and Managers Association International, Smithsonian Facilities Construction Division, Construction Management Association of America, Engineering News-Record, Design-Build Institute of America and various construction-related firms nationwide.

Locally, a National Excellence in Construction Eagle Award was presented to Wohlsen Construction Company in Lancaster in the Commercial - $25 to $100 Million category for the Wilbur Redevelopment in Lititz. A National Excellence in Construction Pyramid Award was presented to Legacy Electrical Services Inc. in Manheim in the Electrical/Commercial - Up to $2 Million category for Greiner Industries in Mount Joy.

PeopleReady Skilled Trades was the presenting sponsor of the EIC awards.
