Local Easter egg hunts planned

As Easter approaches, local churches and organizations have planned fun Easter egg hunts to celebrate the holiday.

Tri-County Chiropractic of Douglassville will host an Easter egg hunt fundraiser on Friday, April 7, from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at Main Bird Park, 226 N. Water St., Birdsboro. In addition to the egg hunt, which will start at 5:45 p.m., there will be food, prizes and photo opportunities with the Easter Bunny. Children are asked to bring their own baskets to collect the eggs.

A donation fee will be collected per child; adults will be admitted for free. All proceeds will be used to assist with medical costs for a Douglassville family in need. MCC (Moving Communities to Christ) will host Easter egg hunts at its Elverson and Birdsboro church campuses on Saturday, April 8. Children up to age 12 are welcome to participate. No preregistration is required.

The Birdsboro egg hunt will take place from 10 a.m. to noon in the church parking lot, 144 S. Walnut St., Birdsboro. The Elverson egg hunt will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. in the parking lot of the church, 4221 Main St., Elverson, as well as the adjacent field along Route 23.

In addition to the egg hunts, open to children up to age 12, both locations will feature games, crafts, photo opportunities, face painting and free refreshments, as well as an opportunity to win prizes. The Elverson location will also include a balloon artist.

The annual Easter egg hunt at Terre Hill Park, 210 Lancaster Ave., Terre Hill, will take place on Saturday, April 8. Children age 10 and younger may participate. The event will be held rain or shine.

Children may visit with the Easter Bunny from noon to 2 p.m., and face painting by Joyful Canvas will be available from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. Magic by Mr. Sneakers will begin at 2 p.m.

Egg hunts for various age groups will begin at 1 p.m. at Pavilion 1. The egg hunts will feature thousands of candy- and money-filled eggs as well as special prize eggs. To learn more, visit http://www.terrehilldays.com and look under Community Events.

The New Holland Lions Club will hold an Easter egg hunt for children age 11 and under in the New Holland Community Memorial Park, located in the 400 block of Jackson Street, New Holland, on Saturday, April 8, beginning at 10 a.m. The hunt, which will take place rain or shine, will be held on the south side of Jackson Street in front of the swimming pool. Children will be able to gather eggs filled with candy; special eggs will be filled with coins. For more information, search for "New Holland Lions Club" on Facebook.
