Local singer releases album

Solo artist Lisa Lynn Ericson recently announced the release of her new album, "Vibrant Simplicity." The project showcases Ericson's growth as an artist, delivering a blend of global music, Latin music and pop genres with a unique twist.

Featuring 12 tracks, "Vibrant Simplicity" takes listeners on a musical journey that explores themes of hope, love, loss and self-discovery. Each song is designed to showcase Ericson's musicianship, with lyrics in both English and Portuguese. Ericson is accompanied on the album by Portuguese pianist and composer Ruben Alves and additional singers and composers Rute Alves, Sara Calaim and Ola Ruth.

The lead single from the album is "December Rose." Another lead song, "Saudade em Português," is one of several on the album featuring Portuguese guitarist Luís Guerreiro. The album also features trumpeter Luís Cunha.

"Vibrant Simplicity" was produced under the Escutar Records label at Slow Music Studios in the country of Portugal. Slow Music Studios is known for its work with artists such as Rui Veloso, Dianne Reeves, BB King and others.

In support of the album release, Ericson will embark on an international tour, bringing her live performances to fans in the USA, Portugal, Brazil, Mexico and other countries. "Vibrant Simplicity" will be available on all major music platforms starting in December.

Ericson is a lyricist, singer, composer and executive producer on "Vibrant Simplicity," which is her first album. Ericson, who has demonstrated her musical talents since childhood, is a poet, author, ghostwriter and editor as well as a theater and film professional, originally from Lisbon, Portugal.

Ericson emigrated to Lancaster County in 2002 and has been working for more than 21 years at Sight & Sound Theatres, where she is the technical writer and research specialist, while also serving as a script supervisor in the company's films branch.

Ericson has authored two nonfiction books - true biographies that tell stories of survival of contemporary individuals. Ericson has published three poetry books, one in English, titled "Vibrant Simplicity," which won a first-place Christian Indie Award in 2022, and two in Portuguese released in 2023. Another poem released in 2021 won an international award, which Ericson received in 2023 at a ceremony in Geneva, Switzerland. Ericson performs her poetry in dramatic presentations and won first place in a live international Portuguese poetry tournament in 2022.
