Lower Dauphin Athletes Make Decisions

Sixteen Lower Dauphin High School student-athletes announced their college decisions in a ceremony in the school auditorium on May 11. The students, their sports, and college choices are listed below.

Caleb Gibbs, son of Dave and Kristin Gibbs, will major in business and continue his basketball career at Randolph Macon College. He was a team captain and Mid-Penn Second Team All-Star.

Tyson Hofsass, son of Jill and Mark Hofsass, will continue his basketball career at Lebanon Valley College. He was a team captain and a two-time Keystone Division All-Star.

Lauren Kirsch, daughter of Susan and Darryl Kirsch, will attend Bloomsburg University to continue her basketball career. She was a two-time team captain and broke the school's three-point record her sophomore year.

Cheerleader Sierra Slentz, daughter of Erin Weaver and Scott Rupert, will attend Millersville University and major in special education and early childhood education. She is a four-year varsity cheerleader and two-year captain and earned All-American Honors.

Cheerleader Marissa Vyhonsky, daughter of Lori and Dave Vyhonsky, will major in early childhood education and cheer at Millersville University. She is a four-year varsity cheerleader.

Vinnie Licata, son of Ken and Ann Marie Licata, will major in business management and play football at Millersville University. He was a letter-winner in football, swimming, and lacrosse.

Matt Piermattei, son of Nicole and Dean Piermattei, will major in business management and play football at Widener University. He was a team captain and all-academic team member.

James "Rocko" Taylor, son of James and Danielle Taylor, will major in economics with a minor in history and play football at Lebanon Valley College. He was a team captain and a four-year member of the all-academic team.

Mackenzie Mowery, daughter of Melanie and Dennis Mowery, will play soccer and major in business and criminal justice at Eastern University. She was a Mid-Penn All-Star.

Marissa Vandernick, daughter of Doug and Sheila Vandernick, was a four-year starter for the Falcons soccer team. She will continue her soccer career at Elizabethtown College and major in occupational therapy.

Madison Zerbe, daughter of Jim and Carla Zerbe, will continue her soccer career and major in mechanical engineering at Point Park University. She was a team captain and was rookie of the year her freshman year.

Mason Dillon, son of Dawn and Adam Dillon, will attend Gettysburg College to continue swimming and major in business, organizations, and management. He is a two-time district medalist and a three-time district qualifier, earning four varsity letters.

McKenna Laduke, daughter of Debora Holl, will major in nursing and swim at Penn State Altoona. She was a team captain and a four-year varsity letter-winner.

AJ Krasley, son of Eric John Krasley, will major in finance and continue his tennis career at Penn State Harrisburg. He is a four-year starter on the tennis team.

Rachel Blessing, daughter of Mike and Deb Blessing, will major in nursing and continue her track career at Geneva College. She is a four-year member of the track team.

Amya Tuckey, daughter of Merdina Saric and Brian Tuckey, will major in psychology and continue her track career at Loyola University of Maryland. She is a four-year member of the track team and earned MVP honors.
