MacNair Receives Eagle Scout Award

Luke MacNair was awarded his Eagle Scout rank during an advancement ceremony on April 9 at St. Paul Lutheran Church. Luke is a senior at Warwick High School and the son of Scott and Jen MacNair.

The Eagle Scout is the highest rank a Scout can earn. This accomplishment was the culmination of years of serving his community while a Cub Scout in Troop 100, based at Lititz Moravian Church, and a Boy Scout in Troop 44 of Lititz.

To attain the rank of Eagle, candidates must earn 21 merit badges and demonstrate leadership and community service by organizing and completing a service project. Luke's Eagle Scout project was adding a sign along Route 322 for the Pumping Station Road trails on State Game Land 156. Luke collaborated with the Pennsylvania Game Commission to develop plans and then worked with fellow Scouts to construct the sign, which offers trail information and will include a map of the Pumping Station Road trails.

During his time in Troop 44, Luke held the leadership positions of patrol leader and quarter master. Luke completed 27 merit badges and is a Brotherhood member of the Order of the Arrow. In 2019, Luke had the opportunity to visit Philmont Scout Ranch in New Mexico.

Luke plans to attend the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown to study mechanical engineering.
