Make-A-Wish Announces Fundraising Total

The Make-A-Wish Philadelphia, Delaware & Susquehanna Valley Mother's Day Truck Convoy raised over $510,000 this year. The convoy was unable to hold a traditional carnival this year, so driver fundraising had a bigger impact than usual on this total. Over $228,000 of the total raised was raised by 30 fundraising drivers.

The top 30 fundraising drivers from this year will lead next year's Mother's Day Truck Convoy in the order of their fundraising dollars. The drivers will learn their position at the Convoy Banquet to be held at the Barnstormers game in Lancaster on Sunday, Sept. 26. The top fundraising driver will be invited to throw out the first pitch of the game. The banquet will be by invitation only to drivers, committee members, and volunteers, but the public will be welcomed to attend the game to cheer on these truck drivers.

In addition to the drivers raising funds for Make-A-Wish this year, Manheim Pennsylvania Auto Auction generated $162,000 for the truck convoy from the sale of a replica 1965 Shelby Daytona Coupe built in-house, as well as the tools used to build the car.
