Joel Makeci will perform in concert on Sunday, Aug. 25, at 3 p.m. in the sanctuary at Church of the Apostles United Church of Christ, 1850 Marietta Ave., Lancaster.

Hailing from Lancaster, Makeci is a Congolese American singer, songwriter, and bandleader whose journey took him from refugee camps in Tanzania to stages across the United States. He performs a fusion of rock, rumba, and gospel accompanied by the eight-member New Generation Gospel Band.
