Malvern Bank To Host Charitable Giving Seminar

Malvern Bank will host "Gainful Giving: A Charitable Giving Seminar" on Tuesday, Nov. 29, in the Washington Building at Historic Yellow Springs, 1701 Art School Road, Chester Springs. A mix and mingle will begin at 4:30 p.m., with the program beginning at 5:30 p.m.

Attendance is free, but registration is required. Reservations can be made at https://mymalvernbank.com/invest/charitable_giving.html#register.

The seminar's featured speaker will be Laura Fredricks, Juris Doctor, an international consultant, speaker and author. For more than 30 years, Fredricks has sought to guide individuals and families to make the right charitable gift at the right time through the right vehicles in order to accomplish the clients' philanthropic goals.

Fredricks will lead a discussion focused on charitable strategies, from the simple to the complex, with different methods of giving that will allow donors to better decide what charitable giving plan fits their philanthropic goals now and in the future.

Seminar topics will include how lifetime gifts differ from charitable bequests, how income tax deductions factor into charitable gifts, giving methods that defer donations but yield upfront benefits to donors, how to donate effectively using assets such as retirement benefits or life insurance and techniques that give donors the flexibility to change their mind about which organizations will receive their charitable donations.

Representatives of local nonprofit organizations will be in attendance and will have information about their organizations for attendees who may consider donating.
