Manheim Lions Club Sets Spring Clean Event

The Manheim Lions Club is celebrating its 100-year anniversary this year. In the spirit of this milestone, the club is giving back to the Manheim community with the first Spring Clean Dump and Shred Event. The event will take place on Saturday, June 7, beginning at 8 a.m. at the new Hope Served location at 201 W. High St., Manheim.

Only two medium size boxes of paper will be accepted for shredding. People should make sure that no paper clips are attached to the paper. Staples are acceptable.

Items that will not be accepted include the following: electronics; liquids, including antifreeze and other fluids; hazardous materials such as asbestos, batteries and items containing lead; appliances with freon, including refrigerators, freezers and air conditioning units; flammable, toxic or corrosive materials, which includes items like fuels, pesticides and certain chemicals.

The event is for Manheim residents only; no commercial or business construction debris or items will be allowed.
