Manheim Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) Cyrus R. Peters Memorial Post 5956, 149 S. Charlotte St., Manheim, will hold a ceremony on Friday, Sept. 19, at 6 p.m. for National POW/MIA Recognition Day.

National POW/MIA Recognition Day has been observed on the third Friday of September since 1979 to honor those who endured captivity and to remember those who never came home. More than 80,000 American veterans remain unaccounted for, spanning conflicts from World War II through the Gulf War.
