March Wheelchair Drive Underway

Joni and Friends PA will collect manual adult and pediatric wheelchairs and wheelchair footrests during March. Wheels for the World, a ministry of Joni and Friends, provides a free wheelchair, along with a Bible and the Gospel message, to families affected by disability.

Donations may be dropped off at their office in at Joni and Friends, 340 Highland Drive, Suite 200, Mountville, on weekdays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. For more details, call 717-716-7428.

At the end of March, the wheelchairs will be transported to a Wheels for the World Restoration Center, located in a correctional facility, where inmates restore the wheelchairs to like-new condition. The restored wheelchairs are then shipped to less-resourced countries around the world. Teams of volunteer therapists and wheelchair mechanics fit each wheelchair to meet an individual's unique needs and provide training in the use and maintenance of the wheelchair.

For an alternate drop-off location or to donate a wheelchair any time of the year, visit http://www.joniandfriends.org and look under Support Us for Donate a Wheelchair. For more information, contact Cindi Feaster at 717-464-9351 or pticedtea@hotmail.com. Tax-deductible receipts will be provided.
