Middletown Church Sets "Christmas In July" Event

The Middletown First Church of God will host its second annual Christmas in July event on Saturday, July 30, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. The event is designed to give community members an opportunity to get their Christmas shopping done early and to purchase some unique gifts not available in stores.

The shopping event will be held outdoors on the church grounds near the picnic pavilion. Craft and gift vendors of all kinds will have items for sale.

"Vendors are from all over the local region from York to Reading - some from as far away as two hours," noted event organizer Fred Flury. "The craft vendors make a broad variety of items. There will be jewelry, wreaths, lighted bottles, paintings, clay items, pens, cigar box banjos, dog treats, T-shirts, repurposed wood items and more."

In addition to those already mentioned, other products for sale will include hair accessories, crafts made with chalk, candles, pearl jewelry, wood crafts, organic body products, wooden signs, epoxy tumblers, keychains, tea towels, tissue boxes, recycled and repurposed items, fabric table runners, baby onesies, handmade soaps, bath bombs, shower gels, soy wax candles and melts, knitted and crocheted items, aprons and freeze-dried candy, fruit snacks and pet treats.

Name-brand products for sale at the event will include Thirty-One bags, Mary Kay gifts, Usborne Books, Scentsy and Tastefully Simple items and Tupperware.

The church will have baked goods for sale, and food and cold beverages will be available for purchase at the picnic pavilion concession area. Menu items will include breakfast sandwiches, pulled chicken barbecue sandwiches, fresh salsa and chips, corn on the cob, hotdogs and hot sausages, hamburgers and cheeseburgers and watermelon.
