Ministerium Announces Lenten Services

The Hershey Area Ministerium, an ecumenical collective of churches in the Hershey area, has scheduled a series of weekly worship services during Lent. All services will begin at 12:10 p.m. Following the service, a light lunch served by the hosting congregation will be available at a nominal cost.

The first service will be held on Ash Wednesday, Feb. 22, at St. Joan of Arc Roman Catholic Church, 359 W. Areba Ave. Worship will be led by the Rev. Ursula Schreffler from Zion Lutheran Church in Union Deposit and John Triscik of St. Joan of Arc. For information, call 717-533-7168.

The Wednesday, March 1, service will be hosted by Derry Presbyterian Church, 248 E. Derry Road. Leading worship will be Michelle Miduri of Love INC of Greater Hershey and the Rev. Stephen McKinney-Whitaker of Derry Church. For information, call 717-533-9667.

First United Methodist Church (UMC), 64 W. Chocolate Ave., will host worship on Wednesday, March 8. The service will be led by Triscik and the Rev. Jennifer Parks-Snyder of First UMC. For information, call 717-533-9668.

On Wednesday, March 15, worship will be held at Hershey Free Church, 330 Hilltop Road. The service will be led by pastor Adam Ulm of Spring Creek Church of the Brethren and pastor Dave Hyatt of Hershey Free Church. For information, call 717-533-4848.

The service on Wednesday, March 22, will take place at All Saints Episcopal Church, 310 Elm Ave., Hershey. Leading the service will be the Rev. Services will return to Derry Presbyterian Church on Wednesday, March 29, with lunch provided by Holy Trinity Lutheran Church. Worship will be led by the Rev. Cindy Brommer of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church. For information, call 717-533-9667.

The Hershey Area Ministerium seeks to respond to the needs of the local community and to provide ecumenical worship services. Lenten offerings received will be donated to several local social service organizations, including the Hershey Food Bank and Community Outreach, Love INC, and Hope Within.
