Church of the Apostles United Church of Christ, 1850 Marietta Ave., Lancaster, will host an event featuring Allina Kay, an American missionary who works in a Ukrainian orphanage, on Tuesday, Jan. 9, at 6:30 p.m.

Kay will share her experiences working with vulnerable children in Ukraine, shedding light on the conditions they face. She will discuss the Shade For Children campaign, an initiative currently working toward building a new cottage to provide a loving and nurturing environment for 8 to 10 children who are orphaned or otherwise in need. There will be an opportunity to support the cause.

Light refreshments will be provided.
