The Donegal High School Counseling Office and Career Resource Center has announced that Sydney Snyder and Jered Mackison were the Mount Joy Rotary Students of the Month for December 2022. Students of the Month are honored by members of the Rotary club during their monthly luncheon meeting.
Sydney is the daughter of Tony and Jennifer Snyder of Mount Joy. She is co-president of the debate club, president of the Spanish Club, secretary of the National Art Honor Society and a member of the soccer and track and field teams, the National Honor Society, the Chess Club and the Quiz Bowl team. Outside school, Sydney attends Victory Church, where she is involved in a small group for creative students and goes on mission trips to help others. She plans to attend college to major in graphic design and business entrepreneurship, potentially competing in track and field. She is considering a career in interface and app design.
Jered is the son of Scott and Colleen Mackison of Maytown. He is a member of the football, wrestling and track and field teams; the National Honor Society; the Donegal Performing Arts Club; the Rhythm Singers; the German Club; and Student Council. He is a Link Crew leader. Outside school, Jered performs and volunteers with the Community Theatre and the Susquehanna Stage Company in Marietta. He was a summer camp counselor at Dutch Apple and helps at St. John's Lutheran Church in Maytown. After graduation, Jered intends to attend Millersville University to major in early childhood education.
