Mount Joy Rotary Honors Students of the Month

The Donegal High School Counseling Office and Career Resource Center has announced that the Mount Joy Rotary Students of the Month for February are Emily Slobozien and Jacob Melleby. Students of the Month are honored during the Rotary Club's monthly luncheon meeting.

Emily is the daughter of Jason and Sarah Slobozien of Marietta. Emily serves as the vice president of National Art Honor Society and president of Spanish Club. She is an active member of the National Honor Society, Math Honor Society, Big Brothers Big Sisters, and Donegal Performing Arts. She is also a prayer group leader and Link Crew leader, as well as a member of the tennis and track and field teams.

Outside of school, Emily is involved in her church. She regularly attends youth group, serves on the worship team, and volunteers in the children's nursery.

After graduation, Emily plans to attend college and major in elementary education to become an elementary school teacher.

Jacob is the son of Derek and Heidi Melleby of Mount Joy. He is an active member of the prayer group, ski club, and the Student Athletic Leadership Program. He has been a member of the boys' soccer team and has served as captain for the past two years.

Outside of school, Jacob plays club soccer for Donegal Youth Soccer and Alloy Soccer Club. He is also a youth group leader at his church.

Following graduation, Jacob plans to attend college to pursue a degree in physical education while continuing to play soccer at the collegiate level.
